My morning skincare routine

 Hello everyone!!

Today I'm very excited to share my skincare routine with you all. I've been using these same products for a while now, and I feel like they leave my skin exactly how I want it. So let's just get into it!

CLEANSER

So I obviously start every morning by cleansing my skin. I've been loving this Warming Cleanser by Sephora, because it is very gentle on the skin, but it definitely does its job. I am usually not the biggest fan of the Sephora brand, but I read really good reviews on this particular one, plus it was super affordable! Its consistency is very sticky (it's got maple sap extract, which cleans your skin without making it feel tight), but when you start massaging it on your skin, it becomes a bit more foamy, and you can feel how that texture gets deep into your pores, getting rid of what shouldn't be there. It's probably formulated to remove makeup rather than cleansing you skin first thing in the morning, but I asked one of the girls at Sephora and she said it was perfectly fine to use it on clean skin as well.

EXFOLIATOR

I exfoliate my skin 2-3 times a week, usually on the days that I wash my hair (I don't know why, I just got used to doing both on the same day lol). Because my skin can get really sensitive, I like using gentle scrubs, because if it's too rough, my skin can get very red very easily, and there's nothing worse than feeling your skin all irritated. So this one by Clinique has some mixed opinions if you check the reviews, but it's worked really well for me. I feel like the micro beads in it work really well on my skin, making it feel smoother and softer. You can find it here.

EYE CREAM

So I know that there's a bit of controversy out there regarding the order in which you apply your eye cream (whether it should be before or after your face cream), but I've found over the years that it works better for me if I put it on before the face cream. Plus I've read that eye creams are specifically created for how thin and delicate that area is, and putting your face cream on your eye area can (in some cases) create all sorts of chaos, even making that area oilier or altering the pH. So after reading this, I felt like doing this first would sort of protect that skin in a way from the cream I put on the rest of my face, kinda creating a barrier. I've been loving the Pep-Start one by Clinique, because it is very light on the skin, but definitely feels nice and hydrated for the rest of the day. I also really like that if I put makeup on later, it goes on really smoothly, so it creates an awesome base for concealer. Available here.

FACE CREAM

I completely fell in love with this moisturiser. I love the texture! It's a bit like gel, but still creamy. I feel like gel moisturisers usually end up making my skin feel dehydrated, and especially during Winter, I need something that seriously hydrates, but without the heavy or greasy feeling. This one is meant to "relieve the extended thirst of your skin", which is exactly what my skin needs during this season. When I put it on, my skin feels seriously plump and hydrated, plus it gives you that glow that reassures you how healthy and nice your face is. Link here

SPF

This one is a very underrated step. I think that probably most of us skip it, especially during Winter because we think we won't get sunburnt, so it's not necessary. This is most definitely FALSE, and we need to make it a part of our routine, especially in Australia, which is one of the countries with the most cases of skin cancer. But SPF is not only to stop you from getting cancer, it also protects your skin from ageing prematurely, it stops you from dark spots, it protects your skin from getting permanent marks after blemishes, etc. Plus with this one by Biotherm, I even get some fine lines smoothed out, so it's definitely a win-win. Also, if you're avoiding sunscreen because you it leaves your skin feeling too greasy, just look properly! There's SO many brands and options out there, that I can guarantee you you'll find at least one that works for you! You can get this one here

Bonus: SPOT TREATMENT

So this one is not a part of my daily routine, but I use it if there are some ugly pimples wrecking my face. This one is by Oriflame, and I got it aaaages ago, so I don't even know if it still exists, but the important thing here is that Tea Tree Oil is perfect for acne. It is definitely the one ingredient that's worked best on my blemishes, far better than salicylic acid or anything else. I probably use this more so during the night, but if the pimples are really bad, I'll put it on both in the morning and at the end of the day. I just make sure that I apply this before the moisturiser, because the moisturiser will create a barrier and the treatment won't sink as well into your skin.

Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading me! xo
