My Winter Essentials

Hi beauties!

I know, I've been the worst and been ridiculously MIA :( Been posting a lot on my Instagram, but sadly didn't have the time to do my usual blog posts. Life just got in the way and I was also lacking a bit of inspiration, and didn't really know what content to post about. But here I am! I'm back and finally found a few things I wanna tell you guys about so let's do this!

In this post I'll be sharing the things I absolutely need to get me through Winter, besides a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate. I like to really take good care of my skin in Winter, because it gets a bit more dry, so these are the things that help me keep my skin/hair Winter-proof.

| HAIR TREATMENT | La'Bang Body Hydrate Me Hair Mask

Ok, so this doesn't really change that much from Winter to Summer, but it's super important to keep your hair hydrated and healthy. I obviously suffer from a lot more frizz during Winter, and one of the best ways to prevent it is by making sure that your hair is hydrated and repaired. If your hair cuticles are open (damaged), frizz is a lot easier to get, so doing a hair mask a couple times a month can really help you with these issues. I've used a few different ones, so this one is really just an example of what I like to use, but my favourite so far is the Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Hair Mask - it smells like Summer and it does an amazing job at repairing, hydrating and detangling.
You can get the Maui mask here or the La'Bang Body here.

| ANTI-FRIZZ TREATMENT | John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum

Alright, so this stuff has made the biggest difference in my hair. It's got 6 effects, so it's not just against frizz, but also against humidity, protects from heat, smoothes, hydrates and tames your hair. There is also the original version, which is not as strong, but this stuff is amazing. You basically apply it STRAIGHT after the shower (on soaking wet hair - do not towel dry it, as it'll make your hair feel and look heavy, because the water kinda 'dissolves' it a little bit), and then you can go from there or you can also complement it with other products from John Frieda's Frizz Ease range. If you struggle with frizz, I would really recommend this, as it's not super pricey and it'll get the job done.

| FACE CREAM | J.One Hana Cream

So, like I mentioned before, to me Winter is all about getting as much hydration/moisture as possible, and this moisturiser helps me achieve that. This is a Korean cream that comes in little spheres, that give you the perfect amount to distribute across your face, and it's so affordable. I feel like it's like high-end results at drugstore (or near-drugstore) prices.
I did a full review on this product a few weeks ago, which you can read here.

| LIP BALM | Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-balm

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but having dry, cracked lips is SO painful and it's just not an option for me. It took me a while to find the perfect lip balm, but I feel like this one has everything I've been searching for: it's repairing, it's super moisturising, it gives you juicy, shiny lips, and doesn't just go away in 2 seconds. This, paired with a lip scrub, will give you perfect lips all the time, and you can say goodbye to cracks and bits of skin!
The peach one is my fave and you can find it here.

| FACE MIST | Paris Hilton Unicorn Mist

This is an extra step for added hydration, so it's perfect at any time of the year, and the fact that it smells like roses is a huge bonus. I apply this straight after I wash my face in the morning, and after it's soaked in, I proceed with serums and moisturisers and all that jazz. It's made my face look more hydrated and plump over time, so I'm very happy with it.
Available here.

| FACIAL OIL | Glow Lab Facial Oil

This is definitely a step that I would mostly skip during Summer, because I hate feeling oily in any way, but since it's not Summer, this is my favourite thing to put on at night, especially after removing my makeup. This oil smells so delicious, and you need a very small amount to get perfect skin. I feel like it's helped me diminish a few fine lines, and it's just so rich and luxurious that your skin will thank you every time. If you're not using a facial oil, I would encourage you to try it - there's so many different brands out there, and they can make a very significant difference.
This one you can get from here

| BODY MOISTURISER | Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser

And last but definitely not least, we have this very important step. I must admit I'm not the biggest body moisturiser, because I sometimes feel like it's an unnecessary (and sticky) time-consuming step in my morning routine, but when I do take the time for it, it makes the biggest difference. This moisturiser is perfect for Winter, because it's ultra healing and ultra rich. So much so, that my skin is still feeling super hydrated the next morning, which is not something I get with a lot of creams.
For my hands, I usually reach for this one by First Aid Beauty. I got it with my Sephora points a couple of months back, and it just works wonders if your hands are feeling dry or even cracked. It seriously repairs them instantly.
You can get the Jergens moisturiser here.
