Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Review

Hi beauties!

Today I finally get to share this new foundation with you all. I got it a couple of weeks ago but wasn't able to get around to posting about it. I am definitely very happy with it, but if you wanna know more details, I'll get into it more in depth.

I had seen a lot of people raving about it online, but didn't really feel like I needed it. Then I got a gift card for my birthday and figured that it would be the perfect excuse to try it.

It is meant to have '24 h of wear for divine, lasting perfection'. This is the first 24h wear foundation by Lancôme. ´With its Eternal Soft technology, Teint Idole Ultra Wear defeats all challenges. Retouch free, complexion stays perfectly sublime. Shine free. Flawless. Unified'. It provides '24h of divine comfort. In perfect affinity with the skin, Teint Idole Ultra Wear is irresistibly comfortable. Its blendable and fresh texture is divine and leaves the complexion perfectly smooth, velvety and matte with no powdery effect'.

So, is it really that 'divine'?

The answer is yes. It is no miracle, obviously, so if you don't look after your skin, this won't do it for you, but it's one of the foundations that's worked the best for me.
It is a bit on the pricey side ($57 in Australia), but it's not the most expensive foundation out there. It is certainly worth it though, because it makes your skin flawless. I wouldn't say it's super matte, because in my case it gives me a dewy finish that I love (my skin is dry), but I've heard people with oily skin say that it's matte on their skin, so maybe it adapts to your skin's needs, which would be the ultimate awesome technology in makeup.
It claims to be retouch free, and I would totally agree with this. The first time that I wore it, it was SCORCHING hot here in Melbourne, and me and my hubby went to the Cricket, where it was even hotter. Did my foundation survive? Yes, it did! And I was pretty much sweating that whole afternoon, so that's a million bonus points!

There was one time when I DID see it melt off my face when it was too hot and I started sweating, and then I could see my forehead didn't really have any foundation left, but I think I know what caused it: that day (and one other day where I got the same result) I used the NYX Pore Filler primer, and I think it might have disturbed the foundation. But other than that, it's worked wonders. I normally use the Quick Fix Priming Spray by Urban Decay, and it complements the base really well.

Does it really last 24 hours?

Honestly, I don't know, because I've never had makeup on my face for that long, and to be honest, it's probably not good for you, unless it is a one-off thing. But, that being said, I can really see it lasting that long. The longest I've worn it is probably 8-9 hours, and it still looked perfect. And you know what the best thing is? There is absolutely NO foundation in the world that stays put on my nose! Most of them are gone within 1-2 hours, I don't know why, but this one -even though it didn't stay on the whole time- stayed put MUCH longer than that, and it's the first time I've experienced that with any foundation.

So, is it worth the hype?

I definitely think it is. They have 40 shades available, so I would especially give it a try if you normally struggle finding the right shade. It is very long lasting, hydrating, smoothing and flawless. Even though it has a medium to full coverage (you can build it up), it feels very light on the skin, and you even stop feeling it after a while. It might not be the cheapest foundation in the world, but the technology is amazing, so it's a very fair price, and it lives up to its promises.

As mentioned before, it retails for $57 and I got mine from Myer. You can also find it at Mecca and David Jones. Here is the link for Myer.
